THG Automation Funkhouser Racecars-MIG-Welding-System

Advanced MIG Processes

Use Fronius CMT, Pulsed MIG, PMC, and LSC to control heat input and reduce spatter.

Coordinated Motion THG

Coordinated Motion

THG Coordinated Motion synchronizes the UR cobot and positioner for consistent torch angle and travel speed.

Air or Water Cooled

Air or Water Cooled

Air cooling suits lighter duty cycles; water cooling supports higher amperage and longer weld cycles.

MultiMode THG

MultiMode

Combine any two THG-supported processes, whether welding or cutting. For example, combine TIG precision with MIG productivity in one cell. Or do Plasma/MIG, Laser/TIG, etc.

Multi-Mode THG

CobotRunner

THG linear tracks extend cobot welding reach by 2, 4, or 6 meters for larger weldments.

Sidecar THG

SideCar

THG SideCar lets the operator switch between robotic and manual MIG welding using the same system and power source.

THG URCap Software. Program Welds In Minutes.

No code programming, even when using positioners and coordinated motion. Simple or complex, program your parts with robot manipulation and an intuitive THG URCap app.

Weaving

Set weave pitch, length, angle, and dwell time.

Path & Multi-Pass

Record a path once, then replay or offset each pass.

Part Check

Verify part features and position before welding.

Job Editor

Create, copy, edit, back up, and restore weld jobs.

Simulation

Check programmed motion before striking an arc.

Pattern Welding

Build repeatable weld patterns across the X, Y, and Z axes.

Stitch Welding

Set weld length and spacing for intermittent welds.

THG proprietary URCap

Designed for welders

Full power source integration

Advanced welding motion and sensing capabilities programmed in minutes

Customer Testimonials

Results From the Shop Floor

“That piece, it’s like 2 hours on the bench for a guy, and it’s 8 minutes with the cobot. The consistency is there. The heat-affected zone is perfect.”

Matt Funkhouser – Owner, Funkhouser Racecars

“We were impressed enough that we decided to purchase 10 of them by the end of the year and started by purchasing six.”

Darryl Floyd – President, Wood-Mizer

“I was always chasing orders, like getting orders done, and the cobot gave me a huge amount of confidence. It can weld more parts than we can ever dream of.”

Matt Funkhouser – Owner, Funkhouser Racecars

“We’ve already completed parts in 50% less time compared to manual welding. It gave us the flexibility to scale production without skipping a beat, and THG Automation’s support has been incredible from start to finish.”

Common Questions

What is a cobot?

A collaborative robot, or cobot, is a robotic arm designed to work alongside people on the shop floor. Cobots are simpler to learn and program than traditional robots, and require a much smaller footprint.

Do I need robotics experience to run a THG system?

No. Any operator can run a THG Automation system from day one. Our team stays on-site through startup and training until you’re producing confidently.

Can I weld steel, stainless, and aluminum?

Yes. THG MIG welding systems can be configured for nearly any arc-welded metal with outstanding results. Fronius CMT and other advanced MIG welding process modifications and industrial-grade push-pull torches make robotic aluminum welding easy.

Can I start small and expand later?

Yes. Every THG system is modular. Start with a single weld cell and add positioners, tracks, coordinated motion, and multi-process capability as your production grows, without replacing the base system.

How long does it take to get a system?

Two weeks average delivery time from order to installation.

Where do you support customers?

THG serves manufacturers across the US, Canada, and Australia. Canadian systems are built locally with no cross-border tariffs.
