THG Collaborative Robotic
Plasma Cutting System

Automate repeatable plasma cutting without robot coding or a dedicated robot programmer. THG combines a UR cobot, Hypertherm plasma technology, and proprietary graphical software in one production-ready cutting system. Program cutting paths through an intuitive interface and put your operators in control from day one.

What’s included in the base system:

Universal Robots Cobot

Hypertherm Power Source

Industrial Plasma Torch

Siegmund Table and Fixturing

THG Proprietary URCaps Graphical Software

Accessories and Consumables

Go Beyond Simple Plasma Cutting

Start with the base system. Add capability when your parts require it.

Add servo-driven positioners for controlled part rotation, coordinated motion for complex cutting paths, or linear tracks for greater reach. Every THG add-on integrates with the same cobot and graphical programming environment, so you can expand the system without starting over.

Fronius Power Sources Proprietary Welding Features

Power Source Options

Choose Hypertherm Powermax65, 85, or 105 SYNC, or Powermax125 for higher-capacity cutting. Recommended capacities range up to 1-1/2 in.

Linear Track Systems

Positioners

Add servo-controlled rotary or headstock-tailstock positioners for part rotation, better torch access, and coordinated cutting across complex geometry.

THG Mobile Platform

Mobile Platform

Move the complete plasma system between work areas on THG’s palletized platform with integrated cable management, leveling, and forklift access.

SYNC Cartridge Technology

Powermax SYNC uses single-piece RFID cartridges that automatically set amperage and operating mode. FineCut cartridges support higher-precision cutting.

Coordinated Motion THG

Coordinated Motion

Synchronize the UR cobot with single- or multi-axis positioners through THG URCap for continuous cutting without manual part repositioning.

Master TIG Welding Aluminum Modern Technologies

Linear Tracks

Extend cobot travel with THG linear tracks from 1 to 6 meters for longer cuts, larger parts, and oversized workpieces.

THG URCap Software.
Program Plasma Cuts In Minutes.

Guide the cobot through the part manually, define the cutting path, and control coordinated motion through THG’s graphical URCap interface.

Pattern Cutting

Program and repeat cutting patterns across the X, Y, and Z axes.

Free Drive Teaching

Move the cobot by hand to teach start points and cutting paths.

Job Editor

Create, copy, edit, back up, and restore cutting jobs.

Simulation

Check programmed motion before striking an arc.

THG proprietary URCap

“I thought I was going to have to wait a couple of weeks, but I was talking to them on Thursday and they were here Monday.”

Matt Funkhouser – Owner, Funkhouser Racecars

“We want to give employees a third arm – more power, more ownership, more time to be yourself, and less time where you have to follow a repetitive operation.”

Zach Van Meter – Owner, TMF Center

“We really wanted to do business with THG. We liked their professionalism. We liked the guys behind the scenes that helped with support. Something happened where we spiked, and I had to have it NOW. Then I think we ordered three in a row!”

Common Questions

Do I need robotics experience to run a THG plasma cutting system?

No. THG systems use a graphical URCap interface designed for production operators, not robot programmers. Teach cutting paths, manage jobs, and control supported external axes without writing robot code.

What materials can a THG robotic plasma system cut?

THG plasma cutting systems can be configured to cut common conductive metals, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Cutting capacity depends on the Hypertherm power source, material, and application. A more powerful Hypertherm plasma cutter can cut thicker sections. THG can integrate Hypertherm plasma cutters up to 125A.

Can the system cut more than flat parts?

Yes. The cobot can follow cutting paths across flat, curved, raised, and complex geometry. Positioners and coordinated motion can also rotate the part while the cobot cuts.

Can I start with a basic system and expand later?

Yes. Start with the base plasma cutting system, then add positioners, tracks, coordinated motion, or other supported options as your parts and production requirements change. The additions integrate with the same THG programming environment.

Can I use positioners and linear tracks with robotic plasma cutting?

Yes. THG systems can integrate servo-driven positioners for controlled part rotation and linear tracks for additional reach. Coordinated motion lets supported external axes move together with the cobot.

What Hypertherm plasma systems does THG integrate?

THG integrates Hypertherm Powermax SYNC plasma technology, with the power source selected around your material, thickness, cut requirements, and production needs.

How long does it take to get a system?

Two weeks average delivery time from order to installation.

Where do you support customers?

THG serves manufacturers across the US, Canada, and Australia. Canadian systems are built locally with no cross-border tariffs.
